Ion Schiau: As long as there will be People…

The horological industry has been living for almost 10 years a historical readjustment. The relatively continuous increase in sales is hardly hiding the profound crisis of the watch companies in Switzerland. Its causes are multiple, and we could talk extensively about the downturn in Asian markets, about the shock represented by Apple Watch, about the exceptional abundance of brands offer or about the radically different consumer habits of the new generation, the so-called millennials. These various changes greatly polarize the market players: the largest brands become even bigger, and the smaller and unprofitable brands live a slow agony. The project that we imagine and develop at Albini Prassa is to dedicate ourselves with perseverance to those Pioneers who, through their courage and their ability to innovate propose an original and independent path. Being different, being unique represents the essential engine of enthusiasm, and this is also the foundation for our promise to bring you an original look of the horologer architecture. As long as there will be people, we will be also fascinated by the passage of time and by the art that attempts to master it and to give it a meaning.
