Breitling – @WatchFred’s Passion for Breitling

Sometimes, if not always, you have to look into the past in order to define the future. One look across the Breitling collection of Mr Fred Mandelbaum gives you a better understanding what passion for watches actually means.

Normally as a watch enthusiast, such as I consider myself to be for more than 15 years, you would feel excited to meet a brilliant watchmaker. Or maybe a watch designer or a CEO running a legendary brand. True, but none of the above situations applies now, while I am heading to Bristol in Vienna to meet Breitling’s most important collector. I am excited because I am about to interview a genuine expression of passion. A watch collector is not related to the business side of the watch industry, but rather connected to the character that keep watches desirable. Just like that. A true collector may be defined as a person willing to put his effort, time and money into defining the story of a watch brand as it is reflected in its most relevant creations.
But how does a person become passionate about watches?
