Watches and Wonders Geneva is THE momentum for the industry! MISTERWATCH and HERWATCH are proud to be invited to attend!

The 2024 edition – April 9th to 15th – is happening both at Palexpo and in the city. Right before coming to Geneva for the big show we went to interview Matthieu Humair, CEO Watches & Wonders Geneva Foundation, to find out what is new for this year’s edition.

“Watches and Wonders Geneva is THE momentum for the industry where all the novelties are launched. A time for the public to discover the latest creations that are unveiled in Geneva during that week. A time for the most important players of the watchmaking industry to speak as one. For this upcoming edition, we will open for the first time over 3 days to the general public. This is a major move in the evolution of the Salon. With Watches and Wonders Geneva, it is the entire city that vibrates to the rhythm of watchmaking!”

What is the main mission of the year’s most important horological event?

Our main mission is to organize watchmaking events throughout the year in Geneva and abroad to promote fine watchmaking around the world. With a total of 55 exhibiting Maisons this year in Geneva– a record number – the program has been considerably enriched. We offer an immersive and personalized experience into the world of watchmaking with unique services. Our goal is foremost to show the beauty and creativity of this industry to a wider audience, and create excitement into the young generation’s eyes. Watchmaking is about emotions and this is what Watches and Wonders Geneva brings to its guests when entering the Salon.

How do you open up the watches universe towards the general public?

Our goal is to reach out to a wider audience and share with them our passion for fine watchmaking. This year the program will be incredible with lots of new activations at the Salon – with a brand new LAB and a series of talks in the Auditorium – and In The City with a complete and vast offering. The free program will host cultural and educational activities from our new Watchmaking Village and, not to be missed, an evening celebration on April 11th , with live music and street performances.

What does Watches and Wonders represent outside the fair in the city?

After the success of last year we have decided to come back and reinforce the program of In The City especially for the young generation who expressed a big interest in watchmaking. New this year, the Watchmaking Village where you will have educational and cultural activities in line with watchmaking. The boutiques will also have in-store animations during the whole week. Thursday night’s event on April 11th , with DJs, live music and street performances remain a celebration not to be missed!

The rest of the interview is published inside MISTERWATCH 19th edition, a special edition launched at Watches and Wonders, available also at the event’s press kiosk.

MISTERWATCH is proud to be media partner for Watches & Wonders as well as invited media together with HERWATCH.

The salon is open to the public between April 13th and 15th.
